Art fairs
Art fairs are primarily sales events for visual arts and art-related objects. Beside the artistic genres of painting, sculpture, graphic arts, art installations and New Media, they also cover the fields of book art, arts and crafts (applied arts), photography and film.
Exhibitors in art fairs are mainly galleries and publishing houses. Their participation may depend on the evaluation by a jury appointed by the exhibition corporation or an advisory board. Art fairs serve the purpose of art trade and information. They are held periodically. Visitors of art fairs are mainly galleries, collectors, museums and publishing houses, but also art critics and various institutions of the art industry.
